The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the collection and delivery of items to and from the working wardrobe site ensuring scheduled collection and delivery times are adhered to whilst fulfilling any other duties as reasonably requested.

Key responsibilities:

  • To act as driver for the working wardrobe project to collect donations from both individuals and businesses and deliver to the working wardrobe site.
  • Adhere to the OMBC Driver Policies at all times.
  • Undertake daily vehicle checks in accordance with agreed procedures ensuring the vehicles are in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times, and to report any problems.
  • Creating and maintaining basic project documents as directed (e.g. Excel spread sheets, project plans etc.)
  • Collect donations from customers in a polite and safe manner.
  • Act professionally and helpfully to safeguard, maintain and foster good customer relations at all times.
  • To assist with processing donated stock, including sorting, washing/drying, steaming; and hanging of donated items.
  • With support, to assist supervising work experience placements
  • Provide general administrative duties as and when required for the service.
  • Monitor customers’ enquiries and service requirements to deliver consistent and exceptional service that provides customers with a positive experience

  1. Full UK driving licence.


Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and members of the public
  3. Ability to lift up to 10kg of stock
  4. Able to manage time effectively, prioritise workload and plan ahead.
  5. Geographic knowledge of the Oldham area, and delivery / pick up arrangements in various destinations.
  6. Maintenance requirements for up keep of vehicle(s).
  7. Familiar with driving policies.
  8. ICT Skills: Basic IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
