The Workflow Unit is a pivotal team supporting the Finance Operational Services (FSO) Teams with a central support function. The purpose of the role is to facilitate and co-ordinate generic and specific tasks in support of the Finance Operational Services Teams.

The post holder will be the initial point of contact for queries and issues raised by service users, wider Council Teams and other external organisations. The post holder will have specific lead responsibility for certain areas e.g. CCA, Debt, Direct Payments etc. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well organised and have excellent communications skills. Someone with a can do and flexible approach who can work well as part of a team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support all generic service functions for the Finance Operational Service Team including front line, income, debt and finance team duties.
  • Deal with telephone and email queries from staff, service users, their representatives and other organisations.
  • Liaise with the Customer Contact Centre ensuring that calls are responded to in line with agreed service level agreements.
  • Manage the Team’s generic email inbox and triage emails as appropriate.
  • Organise workloads to meet service deadlines.
  • Update finance and client systems as appropriate.
  • Log and workflow daily post, including legal documents, cheques etc.
  • Provide general administrative support, issuing forms, letters and minute taking.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Significant experience of working within service teams.
  • Significant experience of supporting office systems (e.g. telephony, email, finance systems)
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering services to firm Service Level Agreements (desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Minute taking skills and experience.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

 

Desirable knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of integrated services across Health and Social Care.
  • Working knowledge of the different types of Social Care provision available.
  • Working knowledge of finance processes and systems.
