Temporary Stores Handler

Assisting the stores and purchasing controller in the effective control, issue, ordering and purchasing of stock and non-stock building materials, plant, personal protective equipment and other associated consumables for the operational activities of the Property Management Division   

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assisting in the cost effective running and control of the stores facility in accordance with Council policy, procedures & Standing Orders undertaking 
  • Issue and control of plant and personal protective equipment in accordance with policy and procedures. 
  • Assisting with the supervision of any part time staff providing assistance in the stores, including any necessary training requirements for the effective running of the stores facility. 
  • Assisting with health, safety and welfare responsibilities within the stores, ensuring compliance with policy, procedures and safe systems of work. 
  • Providing advice and assistance to other staff with product selection and availability. 
  • Promotion and development of positive images of the service including effective and courteous communication with clients, tenants, members of the public and other representatives of the Council and external organisations. 
  • Making a full and positive contribution to the development and aims of the service in accordance with policy objectives and business planning
