The purpose of the role is to enable the effective operation of the Community Equipment Loan Stores by assisting the store manager to deliver an efficient and value for money service

Key responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that all equipment and machinery is cleaned in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
  2. Ensure instruction leaflets on the use of equipment is provided for each item of equipment are provided to service users
  3. Maintain associated documentation regarding delivery, collection and receipt of stock using manual or computerised systems.
  4. Make available information to Store Manager or admin staff regarding equipment levels/stock availability.
  5. Ensure the safety and security of the stores in the absence of the Store Manager.
  6. Take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of the post holder and others affected by their care
  7. Work within safe operating practices.
  8. Report all accidents, incidents or omissions.


“Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria:



  1. Current clean driving licence (maximum 3 points on licence). Minimum 2 years driving experience.


Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Regular experience of driving vehicles of 3,500 kg gvw or above
  3. Ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
  4. Ability to use manual and computerised systems.
  5. Experience of storekeeping systems
  6. Knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to Stores.
  7. Experience managing resources including staff.
  8. Experience of fitting equipment. Ability to fit and maintain equipment.
  9. Knowledge of and ability to undertake regular maintenance checks.
  10. Experience of disabilities.
  11. Ability to plan routes to deliver equipment efficiently.
