What's involved with this role:

Temporary Security Officer 

Job Ref: 5208016 

To close the Town Hall at 1715 (or later in the case of meetings/functions) Monday to Friday, including carrying out a physical check of the Town Hall for security purposes.
Hours of Work: When there are no evening meetings, then the post-holder will be required to work from 1200 - 1730. When there are evening meetings, then the start and finish times will be flexible and will be communicated the week before the meeting(s).

Key Responsibilities:  

  • To respond to, and manage, any incidents within the Town Hall, liaising with Town Hall management, reception staff, the police and/or Emergency Services as necessary. 
  • To respond fully and appropriately to any emergencies (e.g. evacuation, alarm activations, accidents) that may arise, in accordance with Council policies and procedures

  • An up-to-date understanding of the principles and capabilities of relevant ICT standards, technology and systems 
  • Experience of ISO 27001 (BS7799) and other information security best practice standards 
  • Significant experience of security administration and access control systems 
  • A proven track record of sustained and successful information security management
