Temporary Sales & Marketing Officer - Home Ownership

The purpose of the role is to assist the Home Ownership Manager with the delivery of the borough’s regeneration programme through the buy back of properties across all identified estates and to implement the Council’s policy relating to the marketing and sales of Shared Ownership properties also known as LCHO (Low Cost Home Ownership)
Key responsibilities:
- Implementation and support the delivery of the borough’s regeneration programme across all identified estates, working within the guidelines laid down by the Local Lettings Plan and Government legislation.
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders to the programme, including staff, partners, residents, and technical advisers and communications experts to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- Engage with resident and non-residents to acquire properties identified within the regeneration
- programme following successful negotiations; instruct professionals outside of the organisation to this end, the role will involve dealing with complex negotiations and using creativity and imagination to find solutions whilst working within policies, guidelines and legislation.
- Support sales progression for the acquisition of properties, communicating deadlines to ensure progression through to exchange and completion.
- Ensuring properties once completed in line with targets and agreed deadlines and are passed to the voids team in sound condition and information is disseminated to relevant departments
- Attend meetings as required, to promote and advise on the buy back of properties under the regeneration.
- Represent the Council and promote the council’s scheme specific and wider regeneration objectives in a wide range of forums.
- Update and monitor data relating to project performance
- Respond to enquiries within corporate agreed timescales.
- Assist Project Lead Officer in the preparation of an annual business/service delivery plan and provide monitoring reports as necessary.
- Draft Non-Executive Key Decisions to in seek approvals of the Council in line with agreed Programmes.
- Assist Project Lead Officer with the implementation of the Council’s policy relating to the marketing and sales of Shared Ownership properties also know as LCHO (low-cost home ownership).

Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- In-depth knowledge of LCHO (Low-Cost Home Ownership) and experience of buy back properties under a major regeneration scheme.
- Legislation governing Shared Ownership and Regeneration.
- Previous experience of working within property sales environment.
- Have excellent negotiation and financial management skills and take ownership of projects and showing flexibility in reacting and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of office administration systems e.g., monitoring systems, phone use, record keeping.
- Commitment to promoting equality and diversity through service delivery to the community, in relations with colleagues and in employment practices.
- ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
