Full Job Title: Temporary Resident Safety Access Officer – Property Services
Reference no: K&C 5208458
To lead on contacting residents, completing tenancy checks and home visits to tenants of council owned properties to ensure that the Councils Health and safety obligations are met.
To capture up to date information for assisting with access into properties for health and safety checks.
To develop a working relationship with relevant teams and services in order to facilitate meaningful referrals that support our tenants.
To ensure that council policies, performance standards and customer satisfaction requirements are met.
Specifics include:
- To be responsible for assisting with gaining access into property referrals within the Resident Safety Team for health and safety checks, carrying out visits to Council tenants of RBKC
- To refer concerns of safeguarding to the Neighbourhood Co ordinator and to relevant support services.
- To work with support services to assist with gaining access to properties for Health and safety checks to be carried out.
- To provide general advice and support to residents whilst carrying out Home visits or refer to the relevant team when appropriate.
- To ensure that access enforcement such as Environmental Protection Act and Right of Access Injunction is acted upon swiftly to ensure the councils health and safety obligations are met.
- To attend Court as RBKC Authorised Delegated Officer to provide witness statement. (As required)
- To attend forced entry action to execute Right of Entry warrant. Liaising with Neighbourhood Management, gas contractors, locksmith, police, social services and stakeholders.

- Experience:
- Previous experience of conducting housing audits from either working as a housing officer/resident liaison officer within a social housing, or within a block management/accommodation role is essential
- Experience of working in a service area relevant to the role
- Proven experience of working with the public and experience of providing effective customer service
- Previous experience of working with range of IT software
- Skills & Abilities:
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people verbally and in writing
- Effective planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
