Enhanced DBS required for this role 

Personal Advisor within Care Leavers Service to support young people aged 17-24 who are preparing for, or are the process of, making the transition to independent living. As a Personal Advisor you will manage and support an allocated caseload of young people and ensure the provision of practical, personal, emotional and financial advice to support a successful transition to adulthood and promote independence   

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • You will develop effective working relationships with young people and partner agencies and be the key professional to your allocated young people, providing practical help and guidance to promote their safety and wellbeing.  
  • You will be responsible for keeping case records, developing young people’s Pathway Plans, attending meetings and completing visits to young people at home and in the community; always seeking to promote the best outcomes possible 

“Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria: 

  • Successfully achieved NVQ Level 3 – Children and Young People or Equivalent or is prepared to work towards achieving this within 12 months of being registered on the award 
  • Detailed knowledge of Child Development 
  • Specialist knowledge of relevant legalisation, including the Children Act, and legislation relevant to the provision of education and social care services 
  • Significant experience of working with Young People as part of a team or with Partner Agencies 
  • Experience working to improve outcomes for Young People through delivering support to them 
  • Specialist Skills when working with teenagers 
  • Ability to manage the responsibility for own Health & Safety with regards to lone working/out of hours work
