Remote working role - part-time hours considered

The core focus of this job is to provide a wide range of paralegal support to Legal and Democratic Services.  The post holder will be assigned to give dedicated support to the Legal Teams but will be expected to give support across the whole of the Legal and Democratic Services .

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Organise meetings between fee earners, other staff, partners and outside bodies, including the collation and distribution of the agenda, minute taking and ensuring fee earners diaries and case management system is updated.  
  • Produce a wide range of high speed and accurate typing (including audio-typing), e.g. correspondence, contracts, statements, and other documents of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. 
  • Assist with the operation and management of the case management and court bundling system by maintenance of templates, production of reports and be able to give guidance and training to new members of staff. 
  • Contribute to the production and update of training manuals and maintenance of training material. 
  • Collate, update and maintain statistical and performance management information to enable managers to monitor and benchmark our service

  • A good standard of education including English and Mathematics and/or work experience 
  • Legal qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of legal and statutory practices and procedures for at least one of the portfolios 
  • Some knowledge of the law and familiarity of legal terminology is required 
  • Demonstrable experience in a legal environment.
  • Experience working with court bundles and case management systems.
  • Minute taking skills and experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting a team of professionals 
  • Good oral communication skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing to produce documents in a range of formats and style to suit a range of audiences
