Temporary Litter Picker Driver- Waste Collection

The post holder will cover all aspects of the service including refuse collections, loading, and bulky waste collections.Whilst a predominantly driving role, work can be undertaken across three areas: waste collections, waste transfer station and household recycling centres.
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake Refuse collection tasks in accordance with the Cleansing Services contract and the ancillary agreement.
- Act in accordance with the Council’s health and safety policy to take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work activity.
- Sort specific materials into the appropriate vehicle to ensure no unacceptable materials are allowed to contaminate loads

Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Previous experience of driving vehicles of the type requiring LGV Category C Driving Licence
- Knowledge of and adherence to correct manual handling techniques and thereby able to identify and undertake the most appropriate lifting and handling techniques for any task.
- Must be prepared to work weekends and bank holidays as required
- Hold a HGV Class 2 licence
- Driver CPC training in accordance with the legislation
- Digital tachograph holder
- Team player, but also able to manage a small team
- Operation of information technology and data recording systems.
