Temporary Legal Finance & Administration Officer

You will be working in a busy Legal environment supporting a large service and be the first point of contact   

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • To assist the Practice Manager with will all aspects of financial and other business management activities. 
  • To collate and report on income and expenditure, including spend on barristers and experts, including external solicitors. 
  • To provide expertise in respect of IKEN to all fee earners and Oracle systems. 
  • To support the Practice Manager in the upkeep, maintenance and upgrade of systems, such as the time recording system and court bundling system. 
  • To analyse and report on the volume of work undertaken by staff in the service area, providing monthly reports from the time recording system. 
  • To pay disbursement fees, being the first point of contact for resolving any queries or issues with external lawyers, barrister chambers, experts and solicitors. 
  • To undertake general administrative support for Legal Services. 
  • To assist new starters and leavers. Setup of systems, access to online legal library, ID badges and H&S induction. 
  • Order specialist equipment for staff with H&S requirements as recommended by H&S. 
  • To assist co-ordinate the annual renewal of lawyers practising certificates in line with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority 

“Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria: 

  • Knowledge of standard Office packages e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Good working knowledge of processes required to meet legislation, policies and standards of Local Government 
  • Finance experience - Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable 
  • Significant experience of administrative work in a legal or similar office environment dealing with correspondence, filing, preparing documents and using IT systems 
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills to meet tight deadlines 
  • Able to collate data as instructed from relevant sources to feed into reports 
  • Able to present written information, uses spreadsheets, documents and presentations
