What's involved with this role:

Full Job Title: Temporary Legal /Admin Assistant – Legal Services

Reference no: Brent 5212075

This role is office based, 5 days a week with no scope for remote working. There is flexibility with working days and hours to be shifted to Saturday and Sunday.

The role is varied in its delivery but will include:-

  • Recalling and viewing Legal documents from contractor
  • Ascertaining next steps for documents and liaising with Legal Officers with respect to document retention and or destruction
  • Managing, maintaining and updating inventory logs with respect to project.

 

Specific Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria:

  1. Knowledge & Qualifications:
    1. 2:1 level Law Degree or equivalent
    2. Preferably, knowledge of the law and practice relating to children in need, child protection and adoption
  2. Experience:
    1. At least 1 year experience of administrative work in an office environment dealing with correspondence, filing, preparing documents and using IT systems
    2. Preferably, experience of social care legislation in particular child protection legislation, court structure and procedures
  3. Skills & Abilities:
    1. Good presentation skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally
    2. Ability to provide services in a manner which is consistent with the Council's equal opportunities policies
    3. Accurate data entry skills
    4. Good organisational skills
    5. Ability to prepare cases for hearings and to process a caseload of social services – child care -related work
    6. Ability to undertake routine litigation
    7. Ability to prepare cases for hearings
    8. Ability to undertake advocacy in routine cases
    9. Ability to analyse information, evaluate evidence, solve problems and present solutions at an appropriate level
    10. Ability to provide advice and present arguments in a confident, articulate and persuasive manner
    11. Ability to develop and maintain good working relations with clients
  4. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages
