Full Job Title: Temporary Highway Inspector – Planning & Transportation
Reference no: Thurrock RQ612295
To carry out sample and ad-hoc inspections of the highway, recording and processing defects in accordance with the Thurrock Council Permit Scheme and the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
To carry out permit condition checks and reinstatement compliance inspections in line with the Specification of Reinstatements in the Highway (SROH).
To check that works have been completed on time and to issue Section 74 warnings where applicable.

- Must be NRSWA qualified with a valid SWQR card
- Must be experienced in NRSWA inspections
- At least two years’ experience at a level covering most aspects of the key responsibilities of the job
- Experience in maintenance and highway works.
- Knowledge of highway construction specifications and techniques
- Experience of dealing with contractors, utility companies and members of the public and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of Highway Enforcement
- IT skills including Microsoft packages
