Temporary Customer Service Admin Assistant - Libraries
Job Ref: RQ611211
Delivers services within the service point to provide high quality library services and support, assisting customers in their information, learning, reading and ICT needs. Takes lead responsibility for promoting and raising awareness of library services within the local community, with a particular focus on engaging non-users
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal with customer enquiries e.g. at reception, over the telephone
- Receipt and distribute incoming post, process correspondence and send mail out
- Gather information to report back to others
- Set up and produce non-standard letters/templates/spreadsheets/documentation, update and maintain databases and produce management information
- Provide help and assistance to staff in the use of IT packages/systems
- Carry out filing, maintaining staff records, preparing documents for scanning, photocopying, faxing, arranging meetings, diary appointments, handling post, taking minutes
- Provide full support for arranging events including producing materials, booking venues, booking catering, sending out invitations
- Ensure the section complies with administrative procedures relating to Council Policies,
- Standing Orders, Financial Regulations by providing advice and/or administrative support
- Handle and reconcile cash in accordance with agreed procedures
- Supervise and allocate work to more junior staff

- NQF Level 2 qualification e.g. GCSEs Grades 4-9, NVQs Level 2, GNVQs Intermediate, City and Guilds Craft or Part 2, Or Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
- Knowledge and/or experience of delivering services within a local authority setting
- Experience of providing customer service to the public and other organisations in a high volume and fast paced multi-channel environment
- Good oral/written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
