Temporary Customer Operational Intelligence Officer x2 – Data & Insight

The Customer Operational Intelligence Team is a small, welcoming team of data enthusiasts, committed to using data and insight to measure and monitor performance. Two Customer Operational Intelligence Officers are required to play a vital role in shaping how the Council’s use data and insight to inform decision making, measure impact and performance, identify and explore opportunities for continuous improvement. The Council are at the beginning of a journey to transition monthly BI reporting from Microsoft Excel to PowerBI and building automated data processes.
As a key member of the Customer Operational Intelligence Team, working on all aspects of customer data and analysis, you will have the opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in one or more areas of the function (Contact Centre, Libraries, Coroners and Registrations Services).
Key responsibilities:
- Produce and update automated business performance data products, including reports and dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI or similar and Excel to advanced level.
- Good understanding of data structure and the ability to rebuild reports from Excel into PowerBI, mapping relationships and using DAX functions.
- Apply a variety of techniques to report and analyse data.
- Present key findings to ‘tell a story’ engaging various audiences. (this will include using systems to extract data, prepare and visualise data).
- Work collaboratively with a wide variety of people, work as part of a team, building a trusted relationship with senior stakeholders to influence thinking and strategy.

- Educated to RQF Level 3 (A-level) or equivalent evidenced by extensive experience.

- Evidence in using multiple sources of data to deliver true business insight.
- Expert level of knowledge using Microsoft PowerBI and Excel to analyse and present data.
- Expert knowledge of reporting software and experience using to automate the reporting of data.
- Evidence of creativity in exploring business opportunities and commercial acumen.
