A Compliance Officer is needed to support the RACM to ensure adherence to the organisation’s statutory obligations and responsibilities for compliance in all aspects of the management and maintenance of its social housing stock.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the client meets all its legal obligations in relation to equipment installation and periodic safety checks within its property stock including (but not restricted to) gas, electricity, fire, and asbestos associated compliance.
  • Administration support and assisting with the Landlord Gas Safety Certification (LGSC), recording and reporting compliance testing of electrical systems.
  • Administration support and assisting of the client’s fire and asbestos risk assessment systems.
  • Administer and maintain compliance modules of the client’s property asset management system to ensure legislative compliance and support optimum service delivery performance.
  • Provide a point of contact and administrative resource for the implementation of all compliance related activity carried out directly by the Estates & Facilities Compliance Team.
  • Investigate, resolve, and respond to enquiries received from stakeholders in writing, by telephone and/or in person ensuring the organisation’s timescales are met.
  • Support the MRI Orchard implementation project team in the configuration and implementation of the upgraded Orchard Asset ICT solution including the seamless migration of data from current offline information bases.
  • Support the Risk Assurance and Compliance Manager in the administration of strategic risk improvement projects (as required and directed).

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Experience of working in a building services environment, either within a local authority Housing Department or for a private sector contractor.
  • Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
  • Experience of undertaking of administrative work.
  • Experience of using different computer packages, including word processing, databases, email, and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with compliance related building services.
  • Knowledge of contract administration and performance reporting.

Skills/Technical skills:

  • Demonstrable risk awareness.
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial awareness.
  • Detail minded and conscientious.
  • Customer focussed including well-developed communication and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload.
