Temporary Clerical Officer / Admin PT – Music Service

To provide general clerical, administrative and invoicing support to the Music Service. The post holder will provide a professional front line response to schools, visitors, callers, staff and customers of the Music Service.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate a range of computer software such as word, spreadsheets and databases to produce documents, reports and information for the service.
- Respond to requests for advice and information from staff, schools, parent/carers and partners.
- Maintain and retrieve information from paper and electronic filing systems.
- Deal with incoming telephone calls and enquiries.
- Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Attend meetings as requested to take minutes, distribute and follow up actions.

Qualifications & Knowledge:
- 4 GCSE passes (Grades A-C) including English Language or Literature or equivalent or GNVQ Intermediate in Business Administration or NVQ2 in Business or equivalent.
- Knowledge of musical instrument types and an interest in music (desirable).
- Some knowledge of current educational issues and music education hubs.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context with proven administrative and organisational skills.
- Experience managing customer enquiries.
- Minute taking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and positive attitude to customer care.
- Ability to use initiative and organise own time effectively working within tight deadlines.
Technical skills:
- Experience of using IT applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, databases).
- Ability and experience using EVOLVE, SAGE, Paritor (desirable).
