To operate out of two hotels in the Cardiff area that have been booked to provide accommodation to individuals and families arriving in the city. This role will be based on site to respond to any issues that the clients may have. To work in office hours with the flexibility to start early or stay later if required.
We are looking for people with experience of supporting people, any experience of supporting refugees and Asylum cases would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate referrals
- Work with hotel to ensure sufficient accommodation is appropriate (right amount of beds in rooms etc)
- Greet the clients and book in and out.
- Ensure clients have access to foods and other essentials
- Be a point of contact for all services involved
- Register with health services
- Register with schools
- Support with benefit claims along site money advice
- Apply for visa extensions
- Any other duties as required

Experience & Knowledge / Technical skills
- Previous experience of supporting people, of supporting refugees and Asylum cases
- Previous experience in drafting correspondence to a range of different audiences
- Awareness of, and sensitivity to, the needs of vulnerable children and their families
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to deal with people in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
- Ability to understand and retain information about children’s cases including social work interventions and the roles of different agencies in meeting children’s needs.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate performance information and present reports on key indicators
- Ability to write clear and concise reports, including summarising information about children and families and drafting letters to members of the public and other agencies.
- Computer literacy and the ability to produce good quality data in a variety of formats.
- Ability to work with word processing packages at a speed commensurate with the responsibilities of the role
