Temporary Business Support Officer / Administrator – Fostering Team

Hybrid role: Whilst learning the role, it will be at least 4 days office based. Following the induction period there will be a weekly rota with each team member required to work 2 days in the office. Post holders will need to provide office-based cover for annual leave.

Standard DBS required for this role

To provide a comprehensive, professional, proactive, customer focused business support service to the organisation, enabling the Fostering service to meet statutory and legal obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality local authority checks for prospective Foster Carers.
  • Issue invoices and liaise with other local authorities, internal and external agencies regarding file viewing and information sharing, securely.
  • Provide administration support, and take and distribute minutes for the Fostering Advisory Board meeting.

  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Minute taking skills and experience.
  • Well-developed customer care skills, including an ability to deal sensitively with a wide range of customers.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • ICT systems experience (including but not limited to EHM, LCS SharePoint).
  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
