The post holder will provide administrative assistance supporting Social Workers and Managers.
- Provide administrative assistance and support as required, including maintaining all appropriate records, preparing letters, attendance at meetings, minute taking, organising meetings etc.
- Utilise appropriate IT packages to record, update, collate, analyse and present information and data, to establish, monitor and maintain accurate information and appropriate control systems.
- Updating the social care information systems as required
- Deal with correspondence and enquiries from clients, colleagues and/or their representatives, establishing and maintaining good working relationships within the post holder's responsibilities.
- Cash handling as required - may include receipt, balancing and banking, Petty Cash reconciliation.
- Process payments and check invoices being signed off by Supervisor/Manager, ensuring that they are recorded on the appropriate system.
- Maintain records and registers of cash transactions
- Prepare/initiate correspondence, collect and chase non payment of monies owed to Council

Experience & Knowledge / Technical skills
- NVQ 3 or equivalent
- Experience of providing administrative support and excellent customer service, whilst working flexibly as part of a team and with minimal supervision
- Minute taking experience
- Comply with the council’s financial regulation and standing orders
- Promote the Council’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults at a level appropriate to this role and setting
