A Team Manager is required to have accountability for the Let’s Talk Team and be pivotal in promoting and governing excellent practice and developing excellent practitioners. To support the development and delivery of effective evidence-based practice in Adult Social Care and be responsible for ensuring practice is safe, person centred and underpinned by the Let’s Talk Together strengths-based approach. To ensure the team is highly effective, meets all statutory requirements and supports all aspects of practice development through effective performance management oversite.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all staff are working in line with the principles of our Let’s Talk Together strengths-based approach, promoting health and wellbeing and are providing good quality information, advice and guidance to adopt a preventative approach. Ensure the team are working as one team.
- Accountability for delivering against team and individual objectives set by the Community Services Manager.
- Attend or chair relevant meetings which require high level professional input or where practitioners may need to be supported.
- Support and encourage all staff to promote the use of personal budgets and direct payments to enable individuals to maximise their opportunities for self-directed support.
- Ensure statutory duties are adhered to and any issues are reported in a timely manner and are compliance with current and future legislative duties.
- Ensure effective management of safeguarding within council policy and procedures and the scrutiny of packages of support so effective community options are explored whilst keeping people safe.
- Provide robust line management arrangements for the Let’s Talk Team. Responsibility for ensuring that the team meets all statutory requirements set through legislation and guidance.
- Ensure the team is highly effective and high performing and that they work collaboratively with the person, their families and other wider partners to provide a Let’s Talk Together approach to information and advice, assessment and planning. Provide all members of the team with good quality reflective supervision that is challenging and explorative and in accordance with policy and practice and ensure professional standards are maintained.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- Undertake case audits and observe practice, ensuring that practice continuously improves and compliant with national guidance, legislation and STC Policies and Procedures.
