A Site Manager is required to effectively coordinate and supervise resources engaged in the delivery of construction projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage employee performance and other related issues within all appropriate HR guidance/legislation.
- Monitor and manage subcontractor performance.
- Assist in the preparation of programmes for construction projects in order to achieve targets.
- Monitor and manage progress of projects against programme to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within specification and budget and to the Client’s satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate specifications (including tests such as material sampling).
- Deliver quality services with an appropriate framework (e.g. Best Value, Q.A.) to increase customer satisfaction.
- Be proactive in all aspects of health & safety management to comply with current legislation, including CDM Regulations, and promote a culture of good health and safety practice within the working environment.
- Demonstrate a positive, diverse and inclusive attitude to both internal and external customers and colleagues.

Qualifications:
- Time Served Trade NVQ Level 3 in a construction related subject (or have equivalent construction related experience and qualifications).
- Willingness to work towards NVQ level 4 Site Supervision Or ILM level 3 in leadership and Management.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction related subject desirable.
- SMSTS, 3 day First Aid qualified desirable.
- Scaffold Inspection, Asbestos Awareness desirable.
- Relevant professional/managerial qualification desirable.
Experience:
- Experience in the Principles of Construction, with either extensive relevant on-site managerial or technical work experience.
- Experience of project management.
- Experience of managing employees/sub-contractors on site.
- Relevant legislation experience.
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of financial control and contract administration desirable.
- Experience of programming – sequence and critical path activities desirable.
- Design and build experience desirable.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Principles of Construction.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including CDM Regulations.
Skills & Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of what equality and diversity means in the workplace.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
