This opening assignment is for 6 months

Hybrid working, minimum 2 days a week in office

A Service Manager, with significant School Inclusion experience, is required to undertake the development of a new Alternative Provision strategy and associated action plan. To create the new processes required to ensure that all statutory duties are met for all vulnerable learners including SEND children.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coach, mentor and support the Schools Inclusion team and Attendance team so that the culture is child centred, focused on prevention and ensuring timely outcomes for children accessing this pathway.
  • Create the new processes required to ensure that all statutory duties are met for all vulnerable learners including SEND children.
  • Ensure that the Alternative Provision Pathway is revised, is of high quality and ensures that as many children and young people are returned to mainstream education as possible
  • Ensure that the scheme of delegation is met and that the organisation is meeting all statutory requirements.
  • Outcome: New structure where needed for Schools Inclusion and Attendance processes. Clear KPIs and tracking processes for CYP and systems analysis.
  • Clear development of policies and procedures for inside and outside of the organisation.
  • Evidence of LA ability to meet statutory duties and clear records, tracking systems and use of AP.
  • New AP strategy and associated action plan.

  • Significant School Inclusion experience.
  • Career experience of Early Help, SEND and Education and preventative services working in partnership to reduce the use of suspension, permanent exclusions and alternative provision.
