This role is for a leading London Police organisation, candidates with current CTC/SC clearances will go through their vetting processes, currently this is taking up to 6 months.  If you are already in a contract that potentially is not ending for a few months and this role is of interest, do let us know, we would be happy to discuss further. 

The Service Assurance Manager is the gate keeper for the live service platform and is accountable for the effective and efficient onboarding of all new customers, services and technology changes into in-life operations through the appropriate governance and acceptance criteria.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working across the Business Support Unit in MO11 to improve our approach to; internal audit, handling of misconduct cases and complaints, and compliance with a range of regulatory activities including health and safety.
  • Establish an appropriate approach in each area to handling information appropriately and efficiently – this should include demand modelling, resourcing, training needs analysis, development of appropriate tools, etc.
  • Establish an internal audit approach for all MO11 services and is proportionate to each service e.g. highly regulated environments vs. less regulated.
  • Track all open actions from external and internal reviews and create the mechanisms for effective tasking.
  • Create reporting to meet the requirements of service delivery teams and SLT.
  • Provide coaching and upskilling to colleagues working across risk management, continuity planning, internal audit, and other assurance functions.
  • Working with the PMO, establish a programme of Continuous Improvement / Organisational Learning for MO11.
  • Support the SLT to drive the MO11 transformation and support with bespoke activities as required.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Previous governance and process experience around programme/project management and service acceptance procedures.
  3. Transition management experience in onboarding new customer, services or technology changes and taking them into live operations ensuring the live service is protected.
  4. Demonstrable experience of risk and issue management and mitigation.
  5. Proven track record of being able to effectively manage all stakeholders, from 3rd party suppliers, internal support groups, internal leaders and customers.
  6. An ability to develop and build trusting open relationships using excellent stakeholder management skills.
  7. ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).

 

Knowledge:

  1. ITILv3 foundation (desirable).
  2. Knowledge and understanding of service management in the Policing sector (desirable).
  3. Project management principles and practices.
  4. IT service management/operations in an SAAS environment.
  5. Knowledge and understanding of IT, web hosting, cloud services, datacentres, security controls, content management and other similar technologies.
