Role: Research Technician - SEM /Electronic Engineering *Re-opened*
Contract Length: Anticipated 240 days over 12 months

CLEARANCE: This role provide the opportunity to gain DV clearance.
Our client is within central government in the defence sector, and they are looking to hire a Research Technician - Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
As the Research Technician you will have experience working in a similar role and demonstrable experience in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and able to generate and analyse high quality micrographs.
As the Research Technician you will support the research into new developments / recommend improvements related to SEM analysis of microelectronics that are of particular relevance to the team.
We are looking for a Research Technician, who is skilled in the operation of material characterisation using SEM analytical techniques.
As the Research Technician you will have the following responsibilities:
- Undertake Scanning Electron Microscopy of microelectronic systems and components.
- Research into new developments / recommend improvements related to SEM analysis of microelectronics that are of particular relevance to the team
- Communicate microelectronics analysis results to non-technical audiences.
- Build effective relationships across the division and the team as well as with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Partner with project teams to develop innovative solutions and translate stakeholder requirements into project deliverables.
As the Research Technician you will have worked in a similar role and will have the following skillset:
- Demonstrable experience in Scanning Electron Microscopy, and is able to generate and analyse high quality micrographs.
- Skilled in the operation of material characterisation using SEM analytical techniques.
- Able to follow processes and guidelines, with excellent attention to detail.
- An appreciation of, or willingness to learn about electronics and electronic engineering techniques.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to completion.
- The ability to work autonomously and proactively, while ensuring effective communications with the rest of the team.
- Ability to record information accurately, and clearly communicate your work to others in both written and verbal formats.
Clearance: This role provides the opportunity to gain DV Clearance.
