Temporary Payroll Administrator – Human Resources x5 - Remote Working – PSR 1JP00062389

Pay Rate: Up to £140 per day pay range subject to IR35 status

This role is currently Remote Working

To collate and analyse information with regards to salaries, personal details and correctly interpreting the data, calculating, and inputting into ESR system in respect of starters, leavers and re-grading, amendments and redundancy payments.

To work closely with HR Recruitment Officers to ensure that new starter forms, change forms are input accurately and leavers are processed in a timely manner

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain accurate information on spread sheets and databases.
  • Assist in the processing of weekly and monthly payroll including NI, PAYE, SMP and SAP adjustments.
  • Administer retrospective payroll changes.
  • Complete monthly Payroll reports and correcting any errors.
  • Deal with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Query resolution and complaint management.
  • Amend any incorrect year to date figures for all statutory payments.
  • Research and provide options and solutions to suit business needs.
  • Proofread and check figures for accuracy;
  • Process late paperwork or when notified of unauthorized absences in a timely manner with a view to avoid overpayments.
  • Check and authorise payments for new starters, payments.
  • Provide support and deal with queries.
  • Validate and process temporary payment transactions i.e. under or overpayments, payment of annual leave, redundancy payments.


Key Requirements:

  • Experience with the ESR payroll system.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting payroll payments.
  • Experience investigating and rectifying payroll queries to identifying errors/discrepancies.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and act appropriately in response to sensitive payroll and pension issues.
  • Able to work with minimum levels of direct supervision.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and be able to interrogate spreadsheets and databases.
