Temporary Mobile Support Worker/Officer - Facility Management

The purpose of the role is to support the Portfolio Team in providing facility management / porter service at various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Movement of equipment, goods at various sites in a timely responsive and pro-active manner that meets the needs of the users of the buildings.
- Collection and delivery of post from / to the post room. Check stock levels and request necessary supplies using relevant software packages to ensure that equipment and materials are available to colleagues for service delivery.
- Fire safety checks at various sites - check the control panel to confirm it is operating normally. Weekly – undertake tests of the audible fire alarm system using different call points each week. Test emergency lighting. Report faults.
- Ensure that meeting rooms are set up for meetings, furniture set out, ICT working, flip charts in place, coffee machines, clean, stocked and operating correctly.
- Management of keys and access fobs, programming, deactivation, issue, order replacements (various sites) in liaison with other members of the team. lock and unlock buildings, as and when required
- Undertake daily building checks to ensure that essential services are operational, the building is safe for use, life safety systems in place and working, general health and safety e.g. fire escape routes unobstructed. Building security check as and when required, doors and windows secure.
- Identify and report building related faults to the Property Help desk/ line manager
- Respond to ad-hoc service requests, e.g. Collection of waste from user to collection points, cardboard, confidential waste etc. occasional gritting of paths in winter. Lost property (in conjunction with customer first) replacing pedestal locks, moving storage boxes.
- Act as a point of contact for contractors.
- To undertake training to be a designated Fire Warden and First Aider and to carry out the duties of a Fire Warden and First Aider at designated premises.

Qualifications:
- Level 2 in English (GCSE Grade A-C or Grades 4-9) or equivalent qualification.
- Current First Aid At Work Certificate (or willingness to work towards and complete within 12 months).
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- A good understanding of safe working practices in carrying out the required duties, e.g. asbestos awareness, working at heights, manual handling, fire risk assessment, use of fire extinguishers etc.
- Good communication skills.
- Good time management skills with the ability to work effectively and meet deadlines.
- Good customer care skills.
- Ability to undertake duties in a physical role.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
