Flexible with working and are virtual first but there will be a requirement to be in an office.

Provide the best financial information and support for development business and other internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of monthly management and assisting with annual statutory accounts
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Preparation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review
  • Maintaining a good level of technical accounting knowledge to ensure that accounts are prepared correctly and in line with the relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met without exception
  • Manage workload, delivery and development of assistant management accountants
  • Balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with best practice
  • Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments
  • Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy
  • Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE and A-Level Standard (or equivalent), including GCSE passes in English and Maths.
  • Relevant degree education AAT level three or above or in the absence of professional qualifications five to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Qualified member of or studying towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) (desirable)
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
  • Valid Car M.o.T.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of the housing sector. (desirable)
  • Knowledge of service charges. (desirable)

Experience:

  • Relevant experience includes working as part of a financial reporting team, management accounting, budgeting. working with financial systems and working as part of a larger team to achieve common goals.
  • Experience of producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets and period forecasts.
  • Experience in working alongside budget holders and directors.
  • Experience using accountancy software.
  • Some staff management experience (desirable)
  • Experience and knowledge of specialist financial systems (desirable)
  • Experience of managing and leading a team / individual. (desirable)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong all-round IT skills with expert level excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and able to present written and verbal communication in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage workload and deliver outputs to specific deadlines.
  • Able to prioritise and juggle fluctuating and demanding workloads
  • Confidently able to use all Microsoft products including word and excel
  • Strong team player, used to breaking down and preventing silo thinking.
