Mainly homeworking but some office attendance maybe required.
The post holder will provide legal advice and assistance and undertake legal casework under supervision of solicitors arising mainly in relation to Social Services issues –Child and Adult Care
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake legal casework in the area of Social Services
- Provide legal support to solicitors, mainly in the area of Social Services, but also in other areas of legal as required
- Provide administrative support as required
- Provide a full range of professional legal advice and services to the Council and its various client departments, as required
- Undertake such other tasks as appropriate to the grade of the post, as may be assigned from time to time
- Maintain and follow appropriate office procedures and to provide relevant statistical and management information
- Support and cover for other staff, to manage/supervise other staff as may be appropriate, to participate in development appraisal reviews and identification of training needs

Qualifications:
- CILEX Professional Diploma in Law (Level 3) or equivalent legal qualification
Experience:
- Experience in children and family law is required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to manage a complex range of functions and manage multiple priorities with confidence.
- Ability to maintain focus and objectivity under various conditions and skill in maintaining a multi priority workload, progresses a variety of ideas and plans concurrently. Evidences targets set by self and others to meet demanding timescales.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and respond to risks to the achievement of operational objectives and strategic priorities and pressure.
- Skills to analyse a wide range of data and other sources of information, to break them down into component parts, patterns and relationships.
