Full Job Title: Interim Recruitment Consultant – Children's Services

To support line managers in undertaking the end to end recruitment processes

To deliver a consistent recruitment process as defined by policy in order to attract and recruit a diverse pool of talent.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing and delivering recruitment improvement projects undertaken by Children’s Social Care such as agency absorption sessions, development of campaign assets and managing events. Ensuring projects are delivered within timescale, to budget and the requisite quality, with robust outcome and benefit monitoring.
  • Strategic reporting to Children’s Social Care governance on recruitment progress, risks and issues
  • Delivering against initiatives and activities set out in the Children’s Services Workforce Development Strategy and Programme Plan, taking ownership for priorities which sit within the recruitment programme goal
  • Delivering recruitment process improvements for candidate and applicant user experience
  • Oversight for the end-to-end recruitment process in Children’s Social Care ensuring timely advert setup and release, robust shortlisting and interview processes, and proactive onboarding
  • Primary point of contact for all Children’s Social Care related HR recruitment enquiries
  • Supporting communication with onboarding candidates, chasing references, undertaking timely DBS requests, medical screenings, fraud checks – chasing hiring manager as required and escalating
  • Monitoring and maintaining CSC recruitment data and performance
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management with managers, candidates and partners/suppliers

  1. Qualifications:
    1. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification OR Studying towards, or willing to study towards a relevant degree or equivalent qualification - desirable
    2. A graduate membership of an appropriate professional body e.g. CIPD - desirable
  2. Experience working within a recruitment role
  3. An understanding of how to use different software and channels (e.g. social media) for advertisement and recruitment purposes
  4. Knowledge of candidates selection methods
  5. ICT Skills: IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite)
