Interim Performance Officer - Adults/Children’s Service

A Performance Officer is required to undertake the collection, collation and reporting of data and information to support performance management of Children and Education or Adults and Housing services.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide data and information to support needs analysis, strategy development and business planning for Children and Education or Adults and Housing services.
- Support the analysis of data and information which enhances the understanding of practitioners, managers, and elected members in respect of Children and Education or Adults and Housing services.
- Undertake the collection, collation and submission of statutory returns and collections in respect of Children and Education or Adults and Housing services.
- Provide data and information for commissioning and contract monitoring purposes.
- Produce regular, reliable, and understandable performance information for staff, operational and senior managers and elected members in line with performance management frameworks.
- Provide datasets as required by management groups; governance boards; committees etc.
- Undertake reporting and analysis of data and information as requested by the Performance Team Manager including weekly and monthly performance oversight and analysis reports including performance digests; annual analyses of statutory returns; deep dives.
- Liaise directly with operational managers and staff in respect of performance data and information providing coaching, training, and support e.g., in the use of IT systems and software and in understanding reports.
- Provide timely and accurate statistical information for statutory returns and collections (e.g., SSDA 903; CiN Census; Schools Census; SEN2; DtOCs; etc).
- Provide data and information required for inspection and peer review purposes, including contributing to self- evaluation and position statements.
- Participate in business process mapping and ICT system development to ensure all key data can be collected for performance management and statutory return purposes.
- Participate in routine data cleansing processes and exercises.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
- Good standard of general education.
- Practitioner level training and skills in key ICT software packages and reporting tools.
- Good knowledge of the business processes involved in delivering children’s/adults’ services.
- Knowledge of performance management frameworks.
- Good understanding of information governance and data protection principles and requirements.
Experience:
- Good experience in data management.
- Some background in social care / education performance.
- Experience of collecting, collating and reporting a diverse range of data and information in a Local Authority or similar setting.
Skills/Technical skills:
- Highly numerate.
- Good skills in ICT applications and tools.
- Good skills in the manipulation and reporting of data and information.
- Ability to draw together diverse data and information strands to support analysis and reporting.
- Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with staff and operational managers in the organisation, schools, and commissioned services.
