Interim Manager- Noise & Nuisance

The post holder will be responsible for the management of the Neighbourhood Noise and Nuisance Service comprising three teams: Licensing, Noise and Anti-social Behaviour
Key responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with the Director of the Environment Directorate, Head of Regulatory Services, other service Business Unit Managers and lead members,
- Ensure effective delivery and long term planning of key council and Division priorities.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
- Report on progress to key internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide high quality, timely and accurate professional advice, guidance, and information about all aspects of pollution, to customers, colleagues, members of the public, members of the organisation, solicitors, and other professionals in a format that is understandable and appropriate.

Experience & Knowledge / Technical skills
- Knowledge of Environmental Health/Pollution legislation, best practice, competency, and skill.
- A relevant degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent academic or professional qualification.
- Demonstrable expert knowledge in environmental health.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject with significant practical experience
- Working knowledge of regulations relating to noise nuisances, ASB and licensing
- Budgetary experience
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Good analytical judgement, policy and decision making
- Good organisational, interpersonal and prioritisation skills
- Able to work under pressure and dealing positively with stressful situations
- Good attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- High level of IT literacy in a Microsoft Office environment with ability to produce documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
