What's involved with this role:

Interim Local Taxation Officer 

Job Ref: 5208819 

Reporting to the Revenues Technical Support Manager, the post holder will administer Non-Domestic Rates, ensuring databases are accurately updated to reflect the collection and administration of Non-Domestic Rates   

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assessing Non-Domestic Rates requests for exemptions and reliefs. 
  • Determining who is liable for Non-Domestic Rates. 
  • Negotiating payment arrangements and provide advice to customers experiencing financial difficulty

  • Experience of working with customers, businesses and agents some of whom may not be happy with your recommendations 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to converse at ease with customers and businesses and provide advice in accurate spoken English 
  • Negotiating skills - These will enable you to negotiate/advise customers on a range of issues e.g., liability for Non-Domestic Rates reliefs and exemptions etc
