Interim Integration, Development & Delivery Specialist – Digital Policing

This position requires CTC clearance but non-cleared applicants will be considered and the successful candidate will apply for clearance on job offer. Candidates must be UK-Residents (for at least 3 years).

An Integration, Development & Delivery Specialist is required to join the Solution Delivery Portfolio. This is a Business As Usual position for an initial 6 month period potentially longer.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee development, delivery and service management of technical integration services.
- Provide consultancy to a project, advise on the approach and what is possible and oversee design, development, ongoing maintenance and support of new and existing services.
- Provide expert knowledge of a wide variety of integration patterns, software development tools and lifecycle management, devops and service management.
- Evaluate integration options in the context of the business requirements, oversee their conversion into practical designs, evaluate both functional and non-functional aspects of the service.
- Familiar with industry standard agile software development methodologies, devops and service management frameworks such as ITIL.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of bespoke software development in a non-outsourced, internally managed service delivery environment.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of integration technologies, patterns and architectures, for example, synchronous vs asynchronous, batch vs real time, ETL vs ESB, Message Queueing, APIs, Blockchain.
- Knowledge of open-source platforms and infrastructure technologies, including Cloud, Openstack, Containers, Virtual Machines (mainly Linux), Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat, Openshift, nosql and sql databases.
- Understanding of scrum Agile delivery roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Development and Devops tools: Java, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins.
- Ability to design for Business Continuity, Reliability, Disaster Recovery and SLA compliant performance.
- SFIA level 5 for IT.
- Knowledge of mobile data technology.
- Knowledge and experience of IT hardware and network technologies.
Experience & Skills:
- Experience of creating technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Must have Jira, Scrum and min of 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- Experience of delivery of complex enterprise level software development projects in an open-source technology environment.
- Experience of working with an Agile software development, in a high velocity sprint scrum environment: behavioural and test-driven development, sprint lifecycle and Agile release trains, continuous testing, continuous integration, points estimation.
- Knowledge and experience Lean/Agile/Service Management frameworks.
- Evidence of Inclusive Behaviour.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to liaise with stakeholders of differing technical backgrounds to ensure the approach, issues, risks and recommendations are clearly explained.
