Interim Field Engineer – ICT Systems

Hybrid working - potential for some Remote Site working with occasional nights out

The role of Field Engineer will principally be to conduct and facilitate installations for the Project as well as assisting other various high profile areas of the business, working on that or associated tasks.
The role holder will be required to report directly to the Implementation Manager and ensure that the project deliverables are successfully applied against the scope, timeframes and budget aligned with the Business Case.
Key responsibilities:
- Installation, Migration & Decommissioning.
- Desktop Implementation, moves and upgrades of divergent ICT systems.
- Assistance with Datacentres.
- Assistance with Servers and SAN Equipment.
- Assistance with Network LAN and WAN Equipment.
- Structured Cabling (Copper & Fibre).
- Rollout plans and resourcing.
- First to Third Line Support on all services, as and when required
- Live Installation, Migration and Decommissioning Support

Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of working on large scale Business Change and IT enabled Transformation Programmes
- DV (Strap) security clearance to operate in CT Policing environment and with partners
- Experience in National/International Network Deployments
- Experience of Large-Scale Networks, their Designs and Installations, including:
- Network deployments, concepts and best practice.
- Security; separation and segregation.
- Cryptography Hardware and Material and a clear understanding of the requirements of its handling, installation and maintenance.
- Structured Cabling such as Cat5-7 Cabling, SMF/MMF, MTP/MTO and its Secure installation concepts and best practices.
Experience – Desirable or working knowledge of:
- Understanding and knowledge of CT Policing including National (UK Force wide) and international responsibilities; including a clear understanding of CT Policing relationships to Government, security and intelligence agencies and legislative process including their governance arrangements.
- Government Security Classification policy and systems.
- Working in Central Government.
- Working the Policing sector.
- Working in CT Policing.
- Stakeholder(s) interaction/meetings at any level.
- Third party management and interaction.
- Large Scale Networks and Installations including.
- HLD & LLD Design Documentation.
- AD, SCCM, Solarwinds, ServiceNow, CUCM and TMS ect.
- CCTV, Access Control and Security Systems.
- Video Wall Systems.
- Secure Installation in Secure environments.
