Full Job Title: Interim Facilities Manager – Facilities & Environmental Services

The Facilities and Health & Safety Manager is a critical member of the company staff. The post-holder will need to have the knowledge, confidence, and skills to lead, influence and advise staff at all levels in matters of H&S and Compliance.

The unique site means that you will be working in a dynamic and challenging role developing your H&S knowledge in some niche areas including buildings of varying ages and staff of varying degrees of understanding regarding Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

Specifics include:

  • Ensure the delivery of Facilities Management (FM) services to a high standard. Identifying opportunities that will continuously improve all aspects of FM operations
  • Focus on quality-of-service delivery, ensuring best practice
  • Lead the Energy Management and Environmental/Sustainability focus for FM and work closely with other stakeholders on this matter
  • Support the development of FM contracts and contractor management
  • Contribute to FM Procurement strategy and benchmarking projects
  • Ensure records are created and maintained for building (site logbooks) to demonstrate full operational procedures are followed
  • Lead and motivate the Estates team to achieve consistently high standards
  • Support the Operations Manager to ensure an excellent, value for money, estates and facilities provision

 

Specific Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria:

  1. Qualifications:
    1. At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
    2. HND (or similar) in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering - desirable
    3. NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified or working towards
    4. NEBOSH certificate accreditation.
    5. NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
    6. COSHH Trained
  2. Experience:
    1. At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
    2. Experience of provision of advice to managers/supervisors
    3. Handling of H&S investigations
    4. Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedure
    5. Project management experience
    6. Grounds and premises management experience
  3. Leadership skills – ability to give independent minded people a sense of direction and the capacity to motivate them to improve including coaching and developing staff. Ability to delegate effectively, passing on skills and knowledge. Identify strengths and weaknesses in order to develop staff to maximise their potential for the benefit of the Company
  4. ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite)
