Interim Digital Engagement Officer

This role is for a leading London Police organisation, candidates with current CTC/SC clearances will go through their vetting processes, currently this is taking up to 6 months. If you are already in a contract that potentially is not ending for a few months and this role is of interest, do let us know, we would be happy to discuss further.
A Digital Engagement Officer is required to develop and deliver the marketing and advertising strategy, in close consultation with the Project Lead to build followers and meaningful engagement with our target audience.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide a friendly and approachable social media presence through the expert use of language and tone.
- Respond to complaints, questions, and calls for service in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Design and create Instagram story content, prioritising and promoting high user engagement.
- Supervise the work of the Digital Engagement Assistant, providing training and development opportunities where appropriate and ensuring quality of service for all public contact.
- Create copy for online publication and review the draft copy of the Digital Engagement Assistant.
- Keep up to date with the latest social media platform functionality and trends.
- Work closely with the Content Production Officer to contribute to content development through creative meetings, trend scanning, and research.
- Analyse paid and organic social media data and create reports that demonstrate impact for a variety of audiences.
- Develop and maintain professional networks with contributing officers and staff from police forces around the UK to help harness user-generated content within our tone and style.
- Deliver webinars and presentations to the project management team, internal and external stakeholders, and young people in schools and youth clubs.
- Lead the Youth Advisory Group, facilitating monthly meetings with young people to research their opinions and experiences, and feed this back into our content and engagement strategies, and wider police networks.
- Work with partner agencies to deliver appropriate support for vulnerable children and young people.

Experience:
- Experience of working in a digital engagement role.
- Proven success in delivering fully integrated digital content, adaptable to a range of audiences.
- Experience of working with digital media, including handling enquiries, and researching opportunities.
Skills/Technical skills:
- Proven ability to write and edit highly engaging digital copy for different audiences and to proofread to an excellent standard.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain digital communities and attract new online audiences and monitor progress.
- Good project management skills, ability to work proactively using own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines with well-developed time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills written and face-to-face with a wide range of people that may have different beliefs or agendas.
- Exceptional digital literacy skills (Microsoft office, web power point) and analytical tools to measure impact of digital activities.
