Hybrid working - mostly WFH but travel into London will be required for occasionally meetings (monthly)

This role is for a leading London Police organisation, candidates with current CTC/SC clearances will go through their vetting processes, currently this is taking up to 6 months.  If you are already in a contract that potentially is not ending for a few months and this role is of interest, do let us know, we would be happy to discuss further

The Content Delivery Manager, working under the Head of Content, will be accountable for the managing the delivery of content activities for projects across the Single Online Home team. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the content team, wider Single Online Home team, and other partner organisations, to ensure dependencies are managed and delivery is achieved.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the head of content and wider SOH team with planning activity across all content related activities.
  • Work effectively with the Digital Public Contact programme team to help support content related activities on-boarding of forces to the platform.
  • Attend or manage where appropriate the sprint ceremonies, daily stand ups, backlog reviews, sprint planning and mid sprint sessions as well as other delivery related calls and workshops.
  • Work effectively with subject matter experts, stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery meets the overarching roadmap for the platform.
  • Maintain good working relationships with subject matter experts within the policing organisation through workshops, regular communication via email or Slack and by contributing to internal communication channels bulletins.
  • Creation and management of delivery plans.
  • Associated resource management to deliver against plan.
  • Track project status and manage project issues and risks.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans.
  • Manage external suppliers and delivery partners to ensure they deliver outputs in line with the terms of their contract, resolving issues as they arise or escalating as appropriate.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across the Single Online Home team and wider policing.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Have a proven track record of delivery/ project management in a highly-complex and pressurised environment.
  3. Experience working collaboratively in fast-paced agile teams
  4. Experience of working in national programmes.
  5. Experience reporting at a senior level as the role will involve frequent senior management progress / milestone reporting updates.
  6. Experience working with remote-first teams is desirable, but not essential.
  7. Policing experience desirable but not essential.
  8. Experience working in content publishing systems desirable but not essential.

Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of agile ways of working and user centred content design.
  2. Knowledge of wider project management methodologies.
  3. Understands the complex environment of policing and challenges of delivery in government organisations.
  4. Up to speed on emerging digital trends and culture.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Utilise agile methodology and the NDT processes to manage delivery.
  2. Manage complex internal and external dependencies.
  3. Able to remove blockers that affect the plan and is able to develop a plan for difficult situations.
  4. Communicate well on both a business and technical level, to all levels of the organisation.
  5. Able to understand complex concepts and communicate them in a simple manner.
  6. Highly organised with a logical approach. Great at prioritizing and managing productivity.
  7. Strong stakeholder management skills gained through working within disperse stakeholders, across multiple organisations.
  8. Able to work both at a detail and strategic level as and when required.
  9. Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting content propositions and deliverables to product owners and stakeholders.
  10. ICT Skills: Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
