NPPV Level 3 Vetting

An experienced Intelligence Analyst in order to support  a large scale historical Public Protection investigation (Operation Landguard). The investigation will involve reviewing all material received into the incident room and using this to  compile various analytical products to support the investigation. Undertake comparative case analysis (CCA), highlighting similarities, discrepancies and gaps 

Key responsibilities: 


  • Complete analysis to support the investigation as directed by the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO).  
  • Ensure all relevant data within the Incident room is reviewed and considered for any analysis.  
  • From the data/analysis, identify gaps and discrepancies to inform the SIO.  
  • Produce timelines in the most appropriate forms to simplify the data.  
  • Undertake comparative case analysis (CCA), highlighting similarities, discrepancies and gaps.  
  • Produce evidential products suitable for court in line with relevant legislation and policies.  
  • Give structured and detailed briefings to investigating officers to update the results of analytical work undertaken  
  • Attend CPS meetings and court to present analysis if required. 
  • Fully document all decisions, actions, options and rationale in accordance with current policy and legislation 

“Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria: 

  • Previous significant intelligence analysis experience within law enforcement.  
  • Experience in producing analysis within law enforcement with attention to detail that could be used to aid more senior decision makers and/or influence change.  
  • Experience in providing analytical support to large investigations, undertaking both qualitative and quantitative analysis 
  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of officers and police staff at various levels of the organisation. 
  • Experience of working within a confidential environment. 
  • Experience of using i2 Notebook software.  
  • Experience and a good understanding of using Microsoft Excel, as well as other Microsoft products, including Word and PowerPoint.  
  • Experience of managing and resolving complex problems with having minimal initial information 
  • Ability to scrutinise and analyse often complex and conflicting data to present accurate information 
  • Be able to demonstrate high levels of innovation, creativity and flexibility in approach.  
  • Have an ability to problem solve using analytical techniques
