Temporary Housing Procurement Officer– Housing

Pay rate: £19.30 per hour PAYE

The post-holder will assist with the delivery of the Council Home Improvement Service, so as efficiently deliver advice, casework and the administration of private sector housing procurement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide professional support to the Procurement team
  • Develop excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to maximise understanding of procurement to deliver positive outcomes
  • Maintain the Council's procurement guidance materials and templates
  • Deliver low value request for quotations
  • Provide procurement advice and signposting to further support
  • Manage the mailbox, ensuring stakeholder queries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Continuously look at how the procurement function can be improved, including actively seeking and responding to customer feedback

Experience & Knowledge / Technical skills

  • Professional qualification (or willing to work towards one)
  • Good knowledge of commissioning and procurement best practice
  • Excellent knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations (PCR 2015)
  • Appropriate procurement experience in a public sector environment
  • Experience of e-tendering portals

  • Ability to write formal report writing and excellent writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively manage own workload
  • Strong organisational skills that ensure original plans are delivered and implemented resulting in desired outcomes.
