The candidate will need to be flexible to work from home and the office as and when required.

Basic DBS disclosure required for this role

The purpose of the role is to continuously review the operational processes within the services to ensure continuous improvement and that an excellent service is provided to customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and/or coaching to Housing Service staff where areas for improvement are identified.
  • Carry out statutory reviews under Part VII and Part VI of The Housing Act 1996.
  • Respond to customer complaints across the service, ensuring that any learning is identified and embedded.
  • Monitor relevant housing statistics and identify trends, translating back to service provision.
  • Respond to Freedom of Information requests, ensuring data is shared appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute towards the development of Housing Service strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of good practice on a local and national basis and embed into service provision where practical to do so.
  • Represent the Housing Service at internal and external meetings.
  • Offer a customer focused service using systems thinking principles.
  • Support the Council’s approach to equalities and diversity ensuring that our services and policies identify, address and promote the needs of our diverse community. This includes the need for safety of children and other vulnerable people.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Housing, or equivalent experience.
  2. Membership of the CIH.

 

Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  2. Extensive housing options knowledge – law and process.
  3. Experience of carrying out statutory reviews.
  4. Experience in coaching/training.
  5. Ability to collate and analyse datasets.
  6. Ability to effectively manage a complex and varied workload.
  7. Ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable customers.
  8. Excellent communications skills – verbal and written.
  9. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
