The post-holder will provide tailored advice to customers of the homelessness prevention service on a range of options and opportunities including housing, tenancy sustainment, tenancy rights and security of tenure, protection from eviction, wellbeing, welfare benefits and debt
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice and tenancy sustainment casework to a range of residents including, mainly private sector households, households who are threatened with homelessness, households or individuals, threatened with illegal eviction households in insecure accommodation, young people and families within families.
- Respond effectively to, prevent homelessness through advice, negotiation, mediation or conciliation, or by securing immediate access to alternative accommodation and generally promoting a housing options approach to service delivery to a full range of customers.
- To be responsible for managing a caseload, maintaining accurate, detailed casework records, excellent spread sheet and excel skills, Identifying priorities and meeting individual and service performance targets. The successful candidates will demonstrate the Camden Way and drive us to continue to excel with innovative approaches to homelessness prevention. You will be involved in tenancy sustainment, tenancy relation (Protection from Eviction Act 1977 ) preventing and assessing homelessness in line with the Housing Act 1996, Part VII (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002 and the Localism Act 2012). You will be responsible for meeting challenging targets for homelessness prevention through provision of first class housing advice and tenancy sustainment and security of tenure advice and widest range of housing options. You will ensure through casework with applicants and landlords/agents and along with external organisations that tenancies set up via Camden’s PRS access schemes are sustainable
