This opening assignment is for 2 months 

City: SOUTH SHIELDS

HIAB Driver/operator required to work within a busy repairs team. Work will include general labouring of cleaning/removing waste material from sites, delivery of materials and working closely with the team to achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Transport Manager to understand their service requirements and how Transport can better support.
  • To plan the route to make sure deliveries are made on time.
  • Unloading goods at the agreed address.
  • Collecting signatures on delivery where required.
  • To comply with all health and safety requirements on sites, on road and at customers premises.
  • Ensuring Truck and Hiab has all Statutory certificates for the lifting equipment and the accessories always carried.
  • Conducting truck and HIAB safety and maintenance checks each day. Checking ground conditions ensuring safe working area.
  • Taking action and providing solutions to prevent future problems arising.
  • Continual review and improvement to achieve best practice re operational support.
  • Working collaboratively with the Stores, Transport and Site teams to get the vehicles loaded accurately, safely and on time.

  • Updated CPC training
  • Full uk clean license
  • Have an HGV2 class licence

Experience:

  • Experience in risk assessments and lifting plans (desirable)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to provide written reports with service users and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to prioritise and organise your own workload.
