To promote and progress the Council's response to dealing with Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) in the City. In accordance with the Council's policy and procedures, to be the lead officer in resolving individual cases of ASB. To respond to enquiries and reported complaints of ASB and serious neighbour nuisance and co-ordinate any investigations of the same
Key responsibilities:
- To ensure that the Senior Community Safety Officer is kept regularly appraised of all the ASB cases allocated to you as lead officer.
- To ensure that reported cases of ASB are followed up in consultation with key agencies and that progress is reported to the Streetlife Working Group and/or PSG.
- To conduct interviews with members of the public in their homes or in other locations. These will be done in liaison with the Police, City Homes and City RSLs and/or other key agencies as part of the evidence gathering process.
- To prepare and maintain detailed records and case files for use in legal proceedings or other action.
- To liaise with the Council's lawyers on cases and agree and expedite any actions.
- To ensure that the terms of the ASB County Protocol and Information Sharing Protocol are met.
- To make requests to agencies over the disclosure of information in preparation for legal proceedings, such disclosures to be made in accordance with the County Information Sharing Protocol.
- To prepare witness statements for use in legal proceedings.
- To prepare prosecution files and, where necessary, to present cases in Court and/or give evidence in Court.
- To support the Council's Lawyers in Court

- Good general education or equivalent
- Specific knowledge of Anti-Social Behaviour policy and procedures
- Knowledge of legal remedies available to tackle ASB
- Good understanding of the current Government legislation surrounding Anti Social Behaviour
- Experience of carrying out investigations relating to anti-social behaviour.
- Inter-personal skills, written and oral
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to think creatively
