To ensure the provision of high quality, safe and attractive open spaces that meet user needs and are enjoyed by the Boroughs’ many communities. To ensure that the service delivers the relevant objectives contained in the team Service Plan, working as the front-line point of contact with the community, liaising with customers, clients, contractors, members and any other stakeholders.
To produce technical and other contract specifications and fee proposals for commercial activities. To manage statistical information about performance of the service. To maximise income and the development of commercial opportunities for Greenspaces including land and built assets and parks infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all relevant services meet appropriate legislative, quality and local standards.
- To assume a lead role on the writing of internal and external capital bids, grants, S106 and any other funding sources for the development and improvement of parks and open spaces.
- To be the team specialist and take the lead on Greenspaces commercial activities to ensure income is maximised and commercial opportunities are secured with potential clients and existing customers.
- To be the team expert on funding, including bid writing using both internal and external sources of founding in the leisure and greenspaces area.
- To be the team lead on procurement ensuring Council procedures are followed and value for money is gained.
- To be a main point of contact and work in partnership with elected members, parks friends groups, allotment societies, contractors, volunteers and any other agencies to promote innovative maintenance 3 and development of all green spaces, including attendance at evening and weekend meetings, events and lettings.
- To ensure that all service quality standards are maintained at all times including delivery of Green Flag and other similar standards,
- To contribute to team reviews such as service transformation, Lean or any corporate reviews.
- To deliver all work within set budgets and agreed targets to meet monthly spend profiles.
- To go out on site and regularly meet the public face to face and deal with any issues of contention
