Full Job Title: Interim Energy Projects & Programmes Officer – Recycling

Pay Rate: £24.00 per hour PAYE

The Energy Projects & Programmes Officer will primarily be supporting one of the major district heating projects, a world-first initiative to use heat from London Underground tunnels to heat local homes, as well as other projects that deliver of the team’s objectives of reducing carbon emissions, energy consumption and fuel poverty.

Ideally you will be someone with excellent project and financial management skills (experience with project budgets) and preferably an engineering background. Candidates must be available to start immediately.

 

Specific Role Requirements” – to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria:

  1. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
    1. Energy, engineering, building services or construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
    2. Experience of delivering energy-related projects, ideally in a public sector environment
    3. Knowledge of methods and technologies to reduce energy use and carbon emissions from non-residential and residential properties.
    4. Ability to manage energy-related projects, including cost-benefit analysis, procurement, contract management and budget management.
    5. Ability to identify energy-saving opportunities that could be developed into projects
    6. Ability to manage a varied workload, managing several different simultaneous workstreams
    7. Ability to provide clear, relevant technical advice both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences.
    8. Ability to carry out duties in accordance with council policies including quality standards, customer care, health and safety, environmental sustainability and equality.
  2. ICT Skills:
    1. Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    2. Ability to assess large datasets and manipulate them using Microsoft Excel.
