Enhanced DBS disclosure required 

To facilitate and draft Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans in accordance with the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014 legislation 

Key responsibilities: 


  • To write detailed EHC Plans ensuring that they clearly and accurately represent the information collected/submitted.  
  • To amend EHC plans when and where appropriate within statutory timescales. 
  • To ensure EHC Plans written are child/young person focused. 
  • To co-ordinate the requests for professional advice in relation to EHC needs assessments. 
  • To maintain a check on the receipt of professional advice and chase-up missing elements as necessary. 
  • To keep SEND Team Managers up to date with progress on assessments. 
  • To contribute to service development including systems and protocols in conjunction with the team manager and other stakeholders. 
  • To keep up to date with legislation and policy affecting work procedures. 
  • To contribute information as required in preparation for Panel meetings. 
  • To be the main point of contact for parents/carers/young people during the assessment process

  • Educated to Level 3 standard with 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of standard office ICT software applications 
  • Experience of working as part of a team 
  • Experience of working with SEND process and procedures in line with national statutory requirements 
  • Experience of working with parents/carers 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, especially with regards to statutory timescales for assessment and review 
  • Ability to work independently
