Locum EP required to fulfil main grade duties including statutory advice completion
Key responsibilities:
- To respond within the set timescales to requests from commissioners of service as required for both statutory and non-statutory assessments of special educational needs for children and young people.
- Specifically, to provide robust, high quality and comprehensive assessments of children and young people, with a view to identifying and assessing the child’s special educational and developmental needs and advising suitable and effective provision, cognizant of educational, family and community contexts. In addition, to constructively inform, engage and empower children and young people, school staff, parents and other relevant parties about appropriate plans of action.
- To provide relevant and constructive advice to assist the Local Authority to respond to requests for statutory assessments within statutory time periods, including parental requests and Health Authority notifications to the Local Authority that a child may have special educational needs.
- To provide, upon request from Local Authorities, psychological reports towards statutory reassessments, annual reviews and transition reviews for children and young people.
- To liaise with other educational psychologists who may be working to support the coherent delivery of early intervention and prevention services for vulnerable families, children and young people

- At least on year experience working as an EP within a local authority
