This opening assignment is for 1 month 

You will take the lead on the day-to-day running of projects to ensure they, as well as the wider business plan are delivered efficiently, safely and to an agreed timeframe and budget. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will co-ordinate with a large number of contractors, architects, engineers, planners and surveyors clearly and positively to develop good professional relationships 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Support the Operations Manager in preparing and delivering the Business Plan objectives 
  • Lead on delivering projects in line with the Business Plan to the required cost, time and quality. 
  • Support the land acquisition process 
  • Lead on securing planning permission for identified sites 
  • Undertake project level financial management. 
  • Deliver the PR Strategy working alongside Marketing & Comms consultants. 
  • Take an active role in Health & Safety through engagement with Advisors on site specific issues 
  • Act as the main point of contact for buyers, working closely with the estate agent to maximise sales and to ensure excellent customer experience 
  • Lead on procurement of professional services associated with construction projects, including contractors, specialists and technical studies.  
  • Daily management of contractors and consultants

  • Degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (for example in development, construction or project management) 
  • Significant knowledge of project management and housing developments delivered on time and to budget 
  • Demonstrable understanding of overseeing multiple construction sites within a commercial programme 
  • Significant understanding of leading teams to deliver Project outcomes 
  • Demonstrable understanding and practical application of programme and project management methodologies 
  • Demonstrable experience of developing business cases, leading people and applying creativity and innovation to problem solving within a project team 
  • Experienced in contractual matters in relation to tenders, contracts, subcontracts, warranties etc 
  • Experience of reviewing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations, making provision for all known costs, accurately forecasting outturn position, P&L forecasting 
  • Experience of contractual correspondence to fully safeguard the Company’s contractual position 
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills - for writing and monitoring project plans and schedules and utilising time and resources effectively 
  • Ability to interpret complex and commercially sensitive information and data to reach well-reasoned conclusions
