Location: Hybrid – min 2 days per week in London, Bristol or Manchester

 

The Data Management Team supports foundational work through the rollout of the enterprise data catalogue and improvement of data governance practices by setting frameworks and standards. We are seeking an experienced Data Maturity Assessment Lead to conduct comprehensive data maturity assessments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data maturity assessments within complex public sector organisations, proficiency in using Informatica, and expertise in developing governance frameworks.

Key accountabilities:

  • Carry out the government data maturity assessment using the framework.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to assess maturity through interviews, workshops and questionnaires.
  • Work with stakeholders to define, maintain, and support the outputs from the maturity assessment
  • Identify all relevant stakeholders, business and technical, from all levels.
  • Engage with stakeholders to obtain observations, recommendations, opinions, and benchmarking across different areas to determine level of maturity against the assessment/framework.
  • Facilitate workshops and focus groups, with executive teams and senior leadership to align with organisational goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Create current state assessment documents and develop future state recommendations, including gap analysis between current state and future state.
  • Analysis of the assessment findings with a recommendation for potential improvements that can be made.

Key requirements

  • A data expert with 1-2 years experience and knowledge of carrying out maturity assessment, ideally in the public sector.
  • Experience using Informatica and developing Governance Frameworks.
  • Experience defining critical success factors and monitoring progress
  • Strong analytical skills, able to drill to detail when problem solving

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to analyse and interpret data
